What Pillow Care Assistant can and cannot do, and how we keep it safe.

Care organization, not medical advice

Pillow Care Assistant provides care organization and support suggestions — care plans, caregiver matching ideas, reminders, product recommendations, and questions to ask your healthcare team. It is not a doctor and does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Boundaries the assistant will not cross

  • No diagnosing conditions or symptoms.
  • No prescribing or changing medications.
  • No recommending dangerous exercises or treatments.
  • No presenting itself as a doctor, nurse, or therapist.
  • No handling emergencies as normal conversation.

Emergency handling

If the assistant detects urgent symptoms or risk, the normal flow stops and the interface shows a 911 banner, your saved emergency contact, and logs an event for admin review. Always call 911 or your local emergency services for medical emergencies — do not rely on the assistant in those moments.

Privacy and audit

Conversations and structured outputs from the assistant may be reviewed for safety and quality. Medical notes referenced in chat are stored encrypted. Privileged actions taken by the assistant (such as setting up a reminder) are audit-logged.

Human oversight

Pillow Care employs human moderators and a support team. Out-of-scope questions, urgent situations, and disputed outputs can be escalated for human review.

Limitations of the current MVP

The assistant in this release is intentionally conservative. Some replies are scripted or templated to keep behavior predictable. You may sometimes get a 'I can't help with that' answer where future versions will be more capable.

Final legal review

Final assistant language and disclaimers will be reviewed for Canadian healthcare and provincial requirements before public launch.
