What to expect before you sign up

What each role may and may not do is set out on the service pages, and shown to families on your profile — so nobody asks you to work outside your scope.

Live in Ontario. We are running an Ontario pilot. If you are elsewhere in Canada you can register your interest, and we will contact you when we open there.

Documents are reviewed by a person, stored encrypted, and never shown to families.

You set your own hourly rate. Pillow Care takes a percentage of it, and the family pays tax on top at their provincial rate. The fee covers verification, payments, support and the platform.

Earnings are held for 24 hours after a visit is completed, so there is time to raise anything that went wrong, then sent to your bank. How long a bank takes varies, and we cannot trace a transfer once it has left us.

You can see every visit, the fee taken and what is owed to you on your earnings page, and download a statement for your own records or your accountant.

We cannot tell you. Demand depends on where you are, what you offer, your availability and your rate, and we will not estimate it for you. Families choose their own professional — nobody is assigned work.

What we can tell you is that nothing you do during onboarding costs money, and you can stop at any point.

Onboarding is online, and it does not have to be. If you would rather do it with someone on the phone, or you need it in another format, tell us and we will arrange it.
